Vaccination Program For Turkeys

Vaccination, together with proper hygiene practices, will help farmers combat deadly poultry diseases.

Vaccination program for turkeys are described below:


Day1 >>> Newcastle disease vaccine >>> ocular/spray

Week 2-3 >>> Newcastle disease vaccine >>> oral

Week 5 >>> Fowl pox vaccine >>> Wing web

Week 6 >>> Fowl cholera vaccine >>> sub cutaneous

Week 12 >>> Fowl cholera vaccine >>> sub cutaneous

Week 15 >>> Newcastle disease vaccine >>> oral

Note:
Anti coccidiosis drugs should be given every four weeks.
Turkeys should be dewormed every 6-8 weeks.
Antibiotics should be given intermittently as a preventive measure.
Litters should be changed frequently.
Other biosecurity measures should be put in place.
